10/13 - Provence, the Heart of the Mediterranean

Provence, with its sun-soaked vineyards, rustic cuisine, and charming villages, truly embodies the essence of the Mediterranean lifestyle. The region is celebrated for its rich cultural heritage, where the pace of life is slow, deliberate, and deeply connected to the land and sea.
Known for producing some of the world’s finest rosé wines, Provence’s offerings, while simple at heart, can reveal a complexity and uniqueness that are unmatched. Beyond rosé, the region is also home to distinctive red and white wines made from indigenous grape varieties, which pair beautifully with Provence’s flavorful cuisine.
One of the most profound moments in my career came during a visit to Provence with my father last October. On one particular day, we walked the vineyards with Daniel Ravier, the winemaker for Domaine Tempier. He guided us through Tempier’s vineyards, and when we arrived at La Migoua — my favorite vineyard and bottling from Tempier — the experience was unforgettable. The scent of the herbs de Provence that grew around the vineyard filled the air, and it was remarkable to see how these aromas translated directly into the wine itself.
It’s my hope that this tasting offers guests a similar “A-HA” moment, allowing them to truly discover all that Provence has to offer to the world.
